Answer: False . H5N1 was discovered in Hong Kong (and not in Vietnam) in 1997. (I. Pasteur )

Tamiflu, Roche and Gilead Science
It was developed shortly before 1996 by Gilead Sciences, which owns the patent and sells the molecule (for $ 50 million and 10% of turnover) in the Swiss group Hoffman La Roche (Roche ®) which has the exclusive license under the trade Tamiflu ®.
