These tables nineteenth century were exposed to the retirement home Amfreville Beneath the mountains until 2004. With the sale of this property, the owners, legally, they had been taken.
On 11 December 2004, these paintings were found in the auction room Duclair (76) or the auctioneer conducting the sale.
Having learned of this sale, the elected representatives of the lower valley of the Andelle delegate two representatives: Yves LANIC, Mayor Amfreville under the Mountains and John BARETTE, Circle Philatelic Pont Saint Peter. Despite their efforts, the works are awarded € 26 500 to a merchant Arts in Paris. Elected officials across the low valley, taking afraid that these works go abroad are mobilizing to buy these paintings for 50 000 €.
